This painting focuses on the quieter side of the garden in Yarra Valley, with a small group of echinaceas standing against a soft blue sky. I was drawn to the way the petals drooped and curled, giving each flower its own character. It is a simple scene, but one that reminds me why I keep returning to flowers as a subject.
