Each half day session is hands-on and immersive, giving you the confidence to bring these elements into your own work.

These new Skill-Based Workshops include all your painting materials and canvas so there are no extras to think of, bring or buy. Just bring yourself ready to learn. We will feed you morning or afternoon tea and send you home with a tool bag of techniques based on your topic.

Session 1 - Clouds for a Summer’s Day

9:00 AM – 12:30 PM

Clouds can transform a painting, adding mood, atmosphere, and light. In this workshop, we’ll explore how to paint three distinct cloud formations: cumulus, cirrus, and stratocumulus. You’ll learn techniques for soft blending, capturing volume, and achieving that airy, weightless feel. Using inspiration from paintings like Yallingup Reef, The Longing, and Water Garden, Kirsty will break down the process so you can confidently create dynamic skies that elevate your landscapes.

Session 2 - Foam and Whitewater at the Shore’s Edge

1:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Crashing waves, swirling foam, and delicate sea spray, this workshop is all about bringing movement and energy to your seascapes. Using techniques that made Kirsty’s viral reel so popular, you’ll explore how to create realistic foam patterns, contrast between transparent and opaque water, and the power of directional brushwork. If you’ve ever struggled with painting water’s edge, this session will unlock the secrets to making it feel alive.
