This view of Wildwood Valley is full of the things I enjoy painting most, strong light, open land and a sky with plenty of movement. The scattered hay bales create a natural rhythm across the paddock, while the large bale in front gives the painting weight. It feels both practical and beautiful, which is exactly how I see this landscape.
