When I painted "Yallingup Reef", I wanted to bring the coastline to life - the way the waves move with such energy and grace, rolling in before crashing softly onto the sandy shore.
There’s a rhythm to it, almost like the ocean’s heartbeat, with the colors shifting as the light hits the water. The deep blues of the open sea fade into vibrant turquoise as the reef sits just below the surface, creating this incredible texture that feels alive. The waves curl and break with streaks of white foam, catching your eye and pulling you in.
I can almost feel the warmth of the sand underfoot and hear the sound of the water meeting the shore as I look at it.
For me, this painting is more than a snapshot - it’s about that moment of connection, standing at the edge of the world and feeling completely in tune with it.
